A Victorian Palace in Port Townsend

I was going to write something akin to a review of our stay at the Palace Hotel in Port Townsend last summer, but, alas, the details are fuzzy, so I will just share some pictures and make a few comments along the way.

As you can see, this place is very Victorian.  It even began to rub off on me!  The rooms and common areas were spacious and grand ... though the pink was a bit much.

We snooped around  in the morning when housekeeping was begin to clean the other rooms.  Those on the third floor had lovely views of the bay and, in general, better decor (although some had some strange modern kitchenette thingies added to the room).

No shortage of unique architectural details...

These two rooms on the third floor looked to be the best -- tall ceilings, big windows, very open and airy.

And here's the outside of the hotel -- the perfect location along Port Townsend's main downtown street.  Restaurants are nearby and there's a cute cafe on the ground floor.  While certainly not the most luxurious accommodations in town, it was a good mix of comfort, value, and historic charm.
