Making the Best of It

I bought three pairs of long cotton tab curtains for the house and planned to hem them all the same length. No problem, right? Well somehow I managed to cut twice as much fabric off the bottom of one pair. They were pitifully short, like a little girl's self-trimmed bangs. Being the cheapskate that I am, I decided not to rush back to IKEA and spend $40 on another set -- the solution that would take me one hour or less. Instead I embarked on a multi-day adventure, adding trim to the outside edges and bottoms of the botched curtains. After a terrific amount of frustration (and a lot of learning), this is the result:
