The parents arrived to help out with a few projects around the house. First task was hanging our pot rack in the kitchen. My dad also built some bed platforms, installed shelves in my art room, fixed our bathroom door that wouldn't shut, patched some holes in one of the kitchen cabinets, and cut some wood for future improvements to the upstairs banister. Whew!
Mom did some major cleaning and organizing in our potting shed. The white and gold buffet on the left used to be in our living room on Clinton St. No room for it in the new house, but provides great (and charming) storage for gardening things.
Thanks to Mom again, we now have veggies growing in the backyard. Lettuce, chives, radishes, herbs. Wonderful! She also tidied the front porch in a big way:
We rearranging the living room furniture, turning the couch on a diagonal. Definitely helps make the sitting area more cozy.
One of our projects was to make a frame for our giant Paris map. Dad and I purchase some fiber board for the backing and molding for the trim. Boy, was that fiber board hard to cut straight and not a whole lot easier to install! At the end of the day, we were all tired. Very tired!
